Internationally renowned American artist and designer Luba Lukova is regarded as one of the most original image-makers working today. Whether by using an economy of line, color and text to pinpoint essential themes of humanity or to succinctly visualize social commentary, her work is undeniably powerful and thought-provoking.
The exhibition, "Drawing on the Susquehanna: 4 Centuries of Artistic Inspiration and Commerce", was scheduled to open on April 18, 2020 at the Lore Degenstein Gallery. The work in this exhibition is part of a comprehensive survey of artistic works and artifacts featuring the Susquehanna River, curated by artist Rob Evans. Evans has a personal history and connection to the river, and has shared his research and insights into the historical influences it has had on civilization... for the last 4 centuries. His research begins with Native Americans living in the Susquehanna Valley and continues to the present day. Included here is a sampling of the extraordinary work in the exhibition. Since we were unable to have a physical exhibition due to the Covid-19 pandemic, here is the link to the material on Rob Evans’ webpage: https://www.robevansart.org/drawing-on-the-susquehanna-cata
