PA Ham BBQ Sandwich on a PA Martins Potato Roll. A taste from childhood stepped up from chipped ham to Kunzlers VA Ham. Melt butter in the frying pan, add brown sugar, ketchup, sweet relish, salt, pepper, granulated garlic, a splash cider vinegar, a splash of Worchestershire Sauce, and a squirt of yellow mustard. The amounts are to your taste but start with a cup of ketchup for each 1/2 lb of ham and 1/4 to 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Chop your thin sliced ham, separate it with your fingers into the pan and cook until bubbly and the flavors are cooked in.

Beef Rivel Soup. Cook your beef roast in the crockpot covered in water until melt in your mouth. Remove the roast and strain the broth. You will need more broth. Canned or a box of broth such as Swanson or Better than Bullion. Chopped onions, celery and potatoes. I microwave my celery and onions and cook the potatoes separately. Rivels are approximately 3 cups of flour, 4 eggs and water scrambled. Stir the flour egg mixture with a fork. Use a rubber glove and continu...e to mix and drop small amounts of the dough in the simmering broth. Do not put large pieces of dough in it or they will not be cooked inside. THIS IS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE. You can't cook the broth and the rivels to quickly. Best to use a nonstick pot. Stir constantly. When the rivels are done add your celery, onion, potatoes and meat. Spice with salt, pepper, granulated garlic and basil to taste. It takes practice. If your rivels are to big pull them out and cut with a teaspoon. DON'T GIVE UP! See more
