It’s one of those Mondays... I mean Tuesdays. I find myself looking toward the future this morning and wondering what it holds for me and my career... When will this shut down be lifted, what will the salon industry look like going forward... It’s all so uncertain. Each day is different for me... So why not get up early and help your friend with her morning chores at the horse farm? I got to see the sun rise and feed some horses before I normally would even get out of bed! Why not?!? Seems to be a theme playing in my head these days. Why not. ... Over the quarantine we’ve had a few back yard fires. How about you? The question always is, how do you like your marshmallow toasted? Bonus if you do your s’mores fancy... anyone add peanut butter??... I stick to the classic Hershey’s chocolate, marshmallow and graham cracker... and I like my marshmallow toasted to a 7. Nothing more, nothing less. It also tastes best when my kids make them for me XO-Lori

Anyone else need a project to do every day? Since we’ve been made to stay home I found that I need to have something to do or I go crazy. I need a project or I turn into a pile of mush that I can’t recover from for days... Part of that roller coaster ride we’re all on... agreed? ... I have a project for you to do while your home I’ve recently come to realize that some people don’t know that beauty products have an expiration date just like food! A client told me she was still using a particular product from Redken and when she ran out, she would by what I recommend. I said LADY! Redken hasn’t made that product for 4 years!... I showed her where to look for expiration dates and she was in shock. She never knew and honestly, I never really thought to tell people. Beauty products have preservatives and stabilizers but they don’t last forever. The product can become less effective, develop bacterial growth and in some cases becomes rancid. Products that pump out or spray are less likely to become harmful but anything that we touch with our hands is at a greater risk of developing bacterial growth. Yuck! My suggestion is to keep a sharpie in your bathroom and write the purchase date on your bottles because who is going to remember when you bought that serum?? But first...you need to dig deep in the back of those cabinets and throw out those products you bought three hairdressers ago. Yep, I see you ... Time to purge!
