We are strongly opposed to the misguided decision that the County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Committee made to move forward with the reckless devel...opment of Miami Wilds, a water park and hotel that will lead to the irreversible decline and possible extinction of the second largest population of Florida bonneted bats - the rarest bat in the United States. The reckless site selection will cause devastation for the Florida bonneted bat and other species within the area. The project will be reviewed at the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners’ meeting on October 6 for final vote.
