MLK Day of Service is intended to empower individuals, strengthen communities, bridge barriers, create solutions to social problems, and move us closer to Dr. King's vision of a Beloved Community. Nail Trim Vs Nail Buffing What is the difference? ~Nail Trim provides the benefit of shortening you pups nails via nail clipper. But don't be fooled if you choose to do them at home. From the side, it looks like more can come off the Nail, but that doesn't mean you should take more off! ... *The vein, also reffered to as a Quick, resides in the center of your pups nail and is quick to bleed if accidently cut. Our groomers are professionally trained to handle nail clipping, so your pups nails stay short without going too far. ~Nail Buffing uses a pet friendly Dremmel and provides one simple extra step. The Dremmel rounds out that sharp edge after clipping, files the nail to as short as it can safely go, and in our personal opinion, lasts a bit longer than the standard trim. It's great for those with pups who jump up a lot, those with hardwood floors and want to prevent scratches, carpets where your dog can snag a nail, and those with sensitive skin such as the elderly and babies. Now, not every dog does well with getting their nails done. Some prefer the Clipping over the Buffing as the sound can sometimes be intimidating to them. The vibration (which does not hurt them. Our groomers use the same dremmel to fix their own broken nail at times lol) as well can be over stimulating and your pup may prefer sticking to the clipping. Then there are pups who hate the sound and the feel of the nail clipping and do much better with the buffer! Which ever they prefer, our groomers will do everything they possibly can to make your pupper feel safe and secure during their nail session! *If you would like to get your dog used to the feeling if the Dremmel, an electric toothbrush or something that vibrates on their feet is a good positive reinforcement to do at home! *We also provide dog safe quick drying Nail Polish for those looking to brighten up their dogs tootsies! How important do you feel a De-shedding Treatment is? Well our lovely Natasha is here to show just how essential it is with an Extreme De-shed! All dogs shed just like humans shed, however, thick Double-coated dogs such as Huskys, German Shepards, Bernese Mountain Dogs, etc benefit greatly with a good Shed-less treatment, but it doesn't stop there! Short haired pups such at Shiba Inus, Labradors, Pugs, Pomeranians, etc benfit as well! AND it's not just for them! You, your hom...e, and your vacuum happily benefit as well! Let's take a look at Video 1-Before the bath! ~A good blow out with a heavy duty force dryer before the bath helps to not only loosen that stuck in undercoat but also removes a lot of hair your pup is trying to blow out themselves! *Did you know most puppers blow their coats one to two times a year! The Spring and Summer months are usually the worst as they are changing their thick winter coat for a lighter one! Video 2 shows you the aftermath of a before the bath blowout and just how much hair your vacuum will suck up in any given month! ~Now, during the bath our wonderful bathers use a speciality shampoo and conditioner specifically made to help keep that undercoat under control for a few extra weeks! After using a speciality brush in the tub and once rinsed, it's now time for the drying process, which also includes a blow out within! It may not look it, but having the right nozzle and holding the dryer at certain angles makes all the difference when blowing out a coat and drying at the same time! Chandra shows us this in Video 3! See all that hair still coming out even after the first blowout AND bath! And we still aren't finished! ~Our Groomer Jessica @jxau_grooming214 in Video 4 shows us now all the brushing and MORE blowing out that comes with a De-Shed Treatment! Speciality spray is used that is meant to tackled that remaining undercoat along with certain brushes made for all types of double-coated puppers! A smaller dryer is then used to remove the loosened hair when finished, along with a moisturizing spray, a leave-in conditioner, and a scented spritz! Whew! That's a lot of work!
