Friends of Lower Macungie Dog Park

Dog Park users - just a reminder to please use the parking lot at the park and do not park in the apartment complex adjacent to the park. The apartment complex is a private community and happens to also be pet free. We appreciate everyone's understanding.

Hi, I received an email this evening from a dog park supporter who recently was riding his bike along Spring Creek Road and noticed that the maintenance gate in the large dog park had been left open. This could have resulted in a tragedy had a dog or dogs raced through the gate and onto Spring Creek Road and was struck by a vehicle. I have informed the Township but I'd also suggest that users take a look when they enter the park just to make sure. If this would happen again, please post a comment and I will follow up again with the Township.

What a great break from winter! As we get closer to spring, we will be looking for input from users about improvements to the park. We are aware that the entrances have worn away and are working with the township to put some material down to minimize the mud and dirt. Anyone with any ideas? Also, please remember to use the parking lot at the park and not the one inside Spring Creek Apartments. That community is pet-free and is sensitive to users coming through their property. Parking for the dog park is within Spring Creek Estates Park at the end of Danner Road.

Recent users of the dog parks will have noticed the outside gates are missing. We can assure you they weren't stolen. The process to install the locks for the fobs requires some welding and dry powder coating. The Township is handling this, but their vendor has not confirmed a completion date. We'll provide another update when the locks are installed.

Hi Everyone! So far lots of positive feedback about the dog park - glad so many people are enjoying it. A couple of quick bits of information. The township has been receiving membership applications and distributing fobs. The entrance gates need to be modified to add the locks and we will provide notice on Facebook, our website, and on the township website in advance of when the fobs will be required. So, for now, there is no need for the fobs. Secondly, the parking at S...pring Creek Estates Park is somewhat limited and on occasion when sporting events are taking place at the park, there isn't sufficient space in the lot. Please use the street parking for overflow. Do not use the parking lot in the apartment complex next to the park. That complex does not allow pets. Thanks for your understanding.
