The Malvern Center has worked very hard to balance everyone's needs during this exhausting pandemic. We are incredibly grateful to all those who support the Center: the nine unpaid Board members, the dedicated cleaning crew, the Home Group officers, and everyone who has wiped a chair or counter/worn a mask/washed their hands/chaired a meeting/introduced themselves to a newcomer. The world is definitely a better place due to you and the Malvern Center! :-)
There are many resources that help those of us in recovery. Here are some. I Love Recovery Café Editor-In-Chief Nicola O’Hanlon has created a site that offers writings from various authors on the topics of addiction as well as mental health. She includes sections on health, lifestyle, and the arts which makes her site all the more rounded and inclusive. Any curious reader exploring the site for something to identify with would be hard pressed not to find it and O’Hanlon ne...Continue reading

Occasionally we get an email via our web site that is worth sharing with everyone. In this case, someone contacted us to express their appreciation for someone else carrying the message to them many, many years ago. "My name is Randy H. I came through that area in the early 90's. I had a really good sponsor named Alby D. I know its an anonymous program but I'd love to see him or talk to him. Just want to let him know what he helped make happen. Thanks Randy H."... If anyone knows the parties involved here, we can pass along a message.

TO ALL AA GROUPS: Hello Area 59 Members, On November 14 Area 59 will elect new officers. The meeting will be held on Zoom. We will hold five sessions to explain the election and registration process. Any person that might vote in the election is encouraged to attend one of these sessions. You can choose any one you like. A flyer with information is included (click on the blue button below for a copy).... The sessions are not mandatory. They are scheduled for two hours, but the actual presentation will be approximately 15 minutes. The rest of the time is to answer questions. We also intend to make a recording of the 15-minute presentation available. Details will be sent out about that on a later date. Also, included is a draft of the presentation (click on the corresponding button below for a copy). This is sent as information. It could be updated, but it is suggested that you look through it before attending the session that you choose. Please pass this on to any Area 59 members who might be interested. Just a quick update: Malvern Center is now re-opened, after being closed 10/17/20 - 10/21/20 for deep cleaning. We had received notice that there was a person at the 9 am meeting on 10/15 and 10/16 tested positive for covid19 on 10/17. If you were in the 9 am meeting on 10/15 or 10/15, you should stay home and self-quarantine until 10/30/20. Reminder to all: please keep your mask on, covering both your mouth and your nose, whenever you are inside the Malvern Center, especia...lly when you are speaking or chairing. We are depending on all groups meeting in person to continue with the cleaning protocol, wiping all surfaces both before and after your meeting. We are extremely grateful to each and every one of you for your support of the Malvern Center of of each other in our recovery. Stay well!!
I've taken sponsees on road trips to this place. Its history is irreplaceable. Due to COVID its future is uncertain. It needs financial assistance. https://www.wcax.com//bennington-county-birthplace-of-al/
