Book matched black walnut coffee table for a customer. This table features dramatic reverse tapered rake and splayed legs and an under-bevel on the top that hides the hand-cut sliding dovetails, which the legs are mortised into. This walnut was cut, stickered, and air dried at our lumberyard here in Manayunk. Mirror in the showroom! Each piece of black walnut used is completely unique and has a naturally derived cut out perfect for a hallway or foyer. Sometimes when you’re sawing a tree you don’t know it’s completely hollow until you get to the middle! We saved and dried these boards knowing one day we would use them. Rift sawn, old growth Long Leaf Pine Hanging Console. This piece was designed as an elegant storage solution for small items that make a living space feel cluttered. The wood used for this piece was specifically selected for its tight and exceptionally fine vertical grain. The drawer fronts are cut out of one singular board so the grain flows continuously across the entire width. Drawers feature traditional construction with hand cut half blind dovetails and contrasting Ash drawer sides and bottoms. Drawer pulls are burned and shellacked white oak.
