Engine 56 responded overnight to Marple.

Engine and Rescue 56 are currently operating as the RIT on a house fire in Brookline. Also operating on scene are Brookline, Llanerch, Oakmont and Narberth Ambulance.

The Officers and Members of Manoa would like to congratulate Haverford Township Police Department Lieutenant Michael Glenn on his retirement. Lieutenant Glenn proudly served our town for 30 years and was always a helpful hand on incidents. Congratulations and best wishes thank you for your service.

I would like to take a minute and personally thank each and every member of Manoa Fire Company. In 2020 we faced a new challenge all while still providing service to our residents and other towns we respond to. Unfortunately during this trying time our brothers and sisters at Oakmont, Brookline and Bon Air laid to rest several members who were key members of our great Haverford Township Bureau of Fire. The membership shifted from doing our normal block parties, little leag...ue parades, 4th of July activities and community events. We instead provided drive by parades for Healthcare Workers, drive by birthday parties, High School graduation parade and many other events. During the pandemic we have now welcomed 9 new members to our organization. Training continued varying from basic firefighter 1 class though Fire Officer 4 and all in between. The swift water team trained for 3 solid months to achieve Swift Water Technican and Emergency Boat Operator. I would like to thank our Board of Directors for their support and assistance ensuring our folks had the top safety protective equipment and well stocked. Thank you to my Officer Staff who worked round the clock to keep our members safe and handle all incidents big and small. Thank you to our active crew who took on 2020 and advanced the company while doing so. Thank you to our residents for their positive words of encouragement and thank you cards you will never understand how much they meant to us. Finally thank you to our families without their support and care this year would have been difficult for us. May 2021 be a safe and progressive year once again for Manoa Fire Company. Just before 11 this morning, Company 38, Engine 35, RIT 56 and Narberth Ambulance were dispatched to Cardiff Lane for a building fire. Captain 38 arrived on location and confirmed a working fire in an unoccupied dwelling. The Engine arrived soon after and went into service with multiple attack lines. Assistant 38A assumed command from Captain 38 and requested a second alarm. The balance of Company 56, 34 and 58, along with Broomall Fire Company for the RIT, and Montco Engine 23 responded. The fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes and companies remained onscene performing overhaul. Thank you to Collingdale Squad for covering our response area for the second time this week.
