ManorCare Health Services Denver (CO) recently hosted their CVS Vaccine Clinic. The clinical team from CVS was impressed with how prepared the center was for employees, patients and residents to begin the vaccination process. And when one of the residents learned they could stay in their room to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, they changed their mind and elected to consent to begin the vaccination process. A total of 107 vaccinations were given at the center’s first clinic. #HereForYou #GetVaccinated

ManorCare Health Services at Lely Palms, ManorCare Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Naples, Lely Palms Retirement Community and Arden Courts of Lely Palms in Florida held their annual Turkey Trot. Typically, this event allows participants to tour each location, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Turkey Trot became a drive thru event. Social Workers, Physicians and Community Care Partners participated in the event and not only received individually wrapped items such a...s a turkey and a pie, they also received educational information about our continuum of care on how they work together to care for the seniors in Naples. Over 50 people participated in the drive thru event and either used the food to prepare for their families or gave the food to those in need. ManorCare Health Services at Lely Palms is the last stop and would usually have a live band along with snacks to conclude the tour. This year staff members dressed up like turkeys and danced around for everyone to watch and enjoy safely from their vehicles. The residents were also able to enjoy the event watching the dancing turkeys from their windows. The smiles and heart felt appreciation is what makes this event so wonderful for our community, said Duane Smith, administrator.

When Alexis Misra, nurse practitioner for Heartland Care Partners, went for her COVID-19 Vaccine, it was a family affair. We know that 2020 has been a trying year for everyone. But we have been so incredibly impressed and humbled by the ways our communities have stepped up to donate supplies, give words of encouragement and send smiles to patients and residents at our Arden Courts, Heartland, ManorCare and ProMedica locations across the country! Thank you to all of our amazing communities for your support this year. It has helped our employees keep their spirits up and keep going, knowing that they have been in their thoughts throughout the year.

Employees at Heartland Health Care Center Sterling Heights (MI) created a thankful board to help bring a little laughter and positivity to the center. They decorated the board and then helped the patients and residents write down what they are thankful for this year and tape up their words. Employees also took photos of the thankful board to share with patients and residents who were not able to go see it in person. #HereForYou
