4/10-8:49PM (190/350/J12/150/900/CAS) Marion Center VFD was dispatched to a structure fire on Pollock Road in North Mahoning Township. Initial call reported a 24x24 Shed (taxidermy business) on fire with flames showing. 190A1 arrived on scene to find smoke showing with fire contained to a 5x5 area in the shed. Cause of fire was electrical in nature. Units from 190/350 arrived on scene and extinguished the fire and cleared within an hour. STA150 & Jefferson STA12 were also dispatched but cancelled while enroute. Quick work by fire crews resulted in minimal damage. Good work!

Hayden contributes to his community through his membership with his local Boy Scouts of America Troop and school based organizations to which he belongs at Marion Center High School. Hayden demonstrates activism in his community and provides leadership to the organizations to which he belongs. Members from Marion Center & Plumville gathered this evening to do some vehicle rescue training focusing on cribbing & stabilization along with a refresher on learning one another's equipment as we work with our mutual aid regularly. Good work!

Thank you Marion Center Cub Scout Pack 50 for donating 6 cases of water! Firefighters drank 3 cases yesterday at the sawmill fire we responded to. We appreciate all the people and businesses in our community that have dropped cases off at our door. Thank you so much!

JR Firefighter Charlie Hoover is currently enrolled in Essentials training to become an interior firefighter. He's roughly half way through this 5 month training program and to pass, you must put on gear (Helmet, gloves, Nomex, boots) SCBA and face mask within two minutes. He's hard at work practicing to master the two minute mark. Good work!
