COVID - 19 Update: 8/27/2020 We will be Opening By Appointment Only (TBA) - We are Closed to the Public ------------------------------------------- Hi WAMA family! ... This will be more of a "Soft Open" as we work to figure out our schedule based on class type, students' needs, and previous schedules. We ask you to please be patient with us if we have not contacted you yet. Class sizes have to be limited and we need extra time in-between for sanitizing. We are hoping to work out the kinks over the next couple of months and get everyone back on track! In the meantime, please take a minute to read over the following information which details on how we expect to keep everyone safe and to ensure a successful re-opening. We understand it's a difficult time for you all and certainly don't want you to feel stressed out any more than you already are between school and work and all the other crazy things happening in the world! We feel if you are prepared when you come and we are all on the same page, then everything will go smoothly! So here goes!! :) **BY LAW, WE MUST FOLLOW MANDATED GUIDELINES & RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED BY GOVERNOR WOLF & THE PA DEPT OF HEALTH, WHILE ADHERING TO CDC GUIDELINES IN ORDER TO RE-OPEN** Thank you for your cooperation!! :) *Please Read* IN ACCORDANCE TO CDC GUIDELINES Occupancy is limited to 8 Students and 8 Observers in the facility at one time. Social distancing of 6 ft apart is required at all times. MASKS OR FACE SHIELDS ARE REQUIRED UPON ENTRY (For your safety and ours. We will happily provide one for you!) If you are sick please do not enter. If you have traveled outside of the country in the last 30 days, please do not enter. If you have traveled outside of the state and visited hot spot areas we ask you to quarantine for 14 days before entry. *By entering you acknowledge and agree to follow these guidelines that we must legally follow in-order to open safely and continue to offer services. THANK YOU!! STUDENTS AND PARENTS We are happy to see you!! We kindly ask you to not enter the building more than 5 minutes before your class to allow us proper time for sterilization between classes. **ENTRY RULES** Please STOP at Door and Sanitize Immediately Upon Entry One observer may accompany a child. We kindly ask you to not bring siblings and to wait outside if possible. ** Exceptions will be made for small children. Social Distancing MUST be followed. Please keep 6 feet apart. No congregating in the waiting area. Masks or Shields must be worn in Dojo at all times. ** Exceptions will be made for small children or anyone with a disability. Please come dressed in proper attire. Limit belongings to one small bag. Bring your own water bottle. No Food allowed. ** If you have any special needs or requests please let us know! We are all in this together and with your help, we hope to be able to see each and every one of you again!

Important Phone Contact and COVID -19 Update: Hi everyone! Despite the minor set back of Covid -19, it has been an exciting time of changes here at WAMA with the opening of our new school! We are looking forward to seeing you all again soon and will do so in phases according to Governor Wolf's guidelines. Please keep in mind that we are still closed as "yellow phase" does not include businesses in our category. In the meantime: We are implementing a new phone service to bet...ter serve you. This should make it much easier for you to get your messages to us while closed and so we can get back to you as soon as possible. It will also be much easier for you to get a hold of us in the future when we resume operations. Please put our new number in your contacts and IMPORTANTLY, do not call our old phone number. The phone company was not able to forward to our new number due to it being toll-free and we will not get your calls! We don't want you to think we are ignoring you!! COVID UPDATE: Hello all. Many people have been asking, so I just wanted to remind/update you all that Governor Wolf had ordered a Mandatory State Wide Shutdown of all "non-essential" businesses back at the end of March. Only life sustaining businesses are exempt. As a safety precaution, we chose to close prior to the shutdown and have been monitoring the situation daily. We know everyone is eager to get back to normal life activities and we certainly miss seeing all of you in... class, but safety of our community must come first. When the time comes to re-open, we will update you with specifics and what guidelines will need to be followed in-order to ensure the safety of everyone. If you need to get a hold of us, fb messaging is back up. There is nobody at the school to take phone calls so this is the best place to get a hold of us. To our valued students and families: Our number one priority is the health and safety of our clients, staff and the surrounding community. After careful consideration and in an effort to do our part to control the spread of COVID-19, we have decided to temporarily close the school from Wednesday, March 18th - Wednesday, April 1st with all classes anticipated to resume on Thursday, April 2nd. ... We will be following closely for updates and plan on following any guidelines set forthright by the CDC and other reliable health resources. We promise to keep you posted with any updates as they become available. April classes will be prorated accordingly. Thank you and stay safe and healthy.

ALL CLASSES FOR TODAY HAVE BEEN CANCELED - PLEASE READ As you all know, we have been working hard to have our new school ready for March classes. It's an exciting time and we can't wait for the doors to open. Unfortunately, we have experienced a minor delay. During construction and renovations on the new facility, Master Robert sustained a pretty severe cut to his hand/thumb (just yesterday), halting the process. No worries though, he is fine but at the doctor's orders, will ...need to take the day off to rest. This leaves us with some loose ends to tie up and we apologize for any inconvenience. Other than this little hiccup, things are moving smoothly and we expect to be open on Thursday! We ask that you please check back here for any updates in the event that any other unforeseen incidents arise. At this time, we ask you to please refrain from calling the school and to be aware that we have temporarily disabled messenger. However, please feel free to leave a comment here and I will get back to you as soon as possible. For future cancellations and school updates, I will be providing a contact update sheet in the front lobby of our new location. Please be sure to fill one out so that we have your current phone number and email. As a reminder, the Henderson Avenue school is now permanently closed for business and our new location is in the Shop N Save Plaza in the heart of Washington. Adaptive training for kids with special needs is one of our specialty services offered at the Washington Academy. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to participate! And furthermore, it is amazing to watch our kiddos (and young adults) grow emotionally and physically stronger under the proper supports.

Shout out to Hunter Kalchthaler for earning her second strip!! Way to go Hunter!! We are so proud of you!!
