A paraglider sails through the mist over Chamonix, France. It was lovely to watch the paragliders when we visited Chamonix. They look like large, graceful birds as they swoop around the mountains. I'm not fond enough of heights to ever try paragliding, but it was certainly a joy to observe them!
I don't do a lot of black and white photography, but I really liked how it highlighted the texture in the petals and main portion of the sunflower. And I especially like how the bee stands out as well!
Sunflowers are not the most dainty of flowers, but their bold colors and striking appearance are breathtaking to me. Wandering through a sunflower field was a lovely way to spend a summer evening! Sunflower credit: Jessica Yaeger and Yaeger's Farm Market
The conditions last night were perfect for viewing the comet. I was pleasantly surprised by how visible it was to the naked eye! If you haven't had a chance to see it yet, it's definitely worth seeing before it disappears.
After my husband's work conference in France, we meandered over to Geneva, Switzerland. We took a day trip to Montreux and stopped at Château de Chillon along the way. So worth it! The castle itself dates back to the 12th century and there's archaeological evidence that the area was occupied as far back as the Bronze Age. As we explored the walking path around the castle, an incoming storm system made for some moody cloud cover over the lake. It felt like we were stepping into a fairy tale!
