A reminder we are closed today. We had a lot of calls yesterday about local tax returns. Most did extend it to May 17th or declared they would not charge interest or penalties until May 17th. Have a good day!

We will post again later in the week but the office this week will be closed on Friday April 16th. The staff are getting a much appreciated day off for this past tax season. The tax deadline itself was moved to May 17th.

A reminder that the due date is May 17th this year. Right now though, estimates are still due April 15th for the 2021 filing. Paycheck protection program is still active for businesses as it was also extended till the end of May though experts are saying funds will run out sometime in April. Employee retention credit - if you had payroll in 2020 there is a very good chance you have the ability to get money back from this credit. ... Congratulations to Levi Barger on joining Mattern CPA! Today is his first day! Levi attended Clarion University and loves to play with his puppy and hang out with his friends.

Options as you drop off materials at the Emlenton office. We are open for drop off inside but we also have the mail slot in the door if you are more comfortable with dropping off via this method. We also have a portal for documents to be uploaded or you can mail to us. Any questions, feel free to give us a call at 724-867-1712. Meadville office will continue to be open via appointment only at this time.

The 1040 e-filing has been pushed back to February 12, 2021. If anyone still paper files their return, the IRS highly suggest not filing in paper as there will be significant delays in it getting processed.
