Walk for our Heroes - 5K Looking for a fun way to show your patriotism and give back to our military members and veterans? Join the Red Rose Blue Star Moms -Vet...erans Day virtual 5K Walk/Run. This event gives participants the opportunity to run or walk a 5k course of their choice. All registered 5k participants will receive a t-shirt, virtual race bib, finishers certificate and have access to submit their time online! T-shirts will be available for pick up or for an additional fee shipping will be available. You will have between October 11, 2020 and November 11, 2020 to complete your race and enter your time. OUR CAUSE: Red Rose Blue Star Moms is a chapter of The Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc., a non-partisan, non-political, non-sectarian organization. We do not support any political candidate nor do we endorse any religious organization. The military represents all aspects of America as does our organization. Links to our website do not represent an endorsement. We are a 501(c)3 Organization Organizational Overview: We are mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, foster mothers and female legal guardians who have children serving in the military, guard or reserves, or children who are veterans. We support each other and our children while promoting patriotism. Our organization focuses on our mission every single day and will never, ever, forsake our troops, our veterans or the families of our Fallen Heroes. Our organization not only provides support for active duty service personnel, promotes patriotism, assists Veterans organizations, and are available to assist in homeland volunteer efforts to help our country remain strong. Our mission is three fold: We come along side Veterans, Military Families and Military Members themselves with support. That support varies from financial, Care Packages, Letters of support and cards to military members and veterans, Rose for Every Stone, Wreaths Across America, Valentines for Vets and much more. By registering and participating in our Virtual 5K you are helping a "Band of Mothers" accomplish their mission. SWAG All participants will receive a T-Shirt with their registration fee. T-shirts are available in unisex sizes S-2XL and Women's Fitted S-3XL. There is also a long sleeve T-Shirt option for an additional $5.00, Long Sleeve only available in unisex sizes S-2XL. All shirts are red super soft cotton with race logo on front and sponsor names on the back. Pick up will be October 24 with Locations in York and Lancaster, PA. They also advise on the City's long-term comprehensive plan, proposed amendments to zoning and any proposed changes to the official city map. During tonight's meeting, they will be discussing and voting about a minor waiver request on Euclid, the Park City Bonton building redevelopment, final plans for the TEC HQ on Harrisburg Ave, LGH's requested Zoning Amendment for their N. Queen St. property, and a certification of blight for properties on Pershing and Pearl. The floor will be open at the end of the meeting for other items and public comment.
