McClure Hometown Hero Program

For all the new and old banners we will try to hang the banners where you request but sometimes it is not possible because of where the current roads are being displayed. The current roads that the banners will be on are around the park, all of Brown Street, West Specht Street, Forbes and possibly Ohio this year. Thank you in advance for your understanding. The 24 new banners are in the proof stage now and they are quickly being checked and edited if need be. Thank you ag...ain and the banners will be hung up before Memorial Day! Please understand, we try to put them as close as possible to your request; sometimes there are several people in that area of town and can't that year, but it is possible to move the banners around to a different location the following year. We do try or best, but can't always accommodate. Thank you for your understanding.

National Vietnam War Veterans Day, March 29 National Vietnam War Veterans Day unites Americans to thank and honor Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice. The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017 was signed into law by 45th U.S. President Donald J. Trump, designating every March 29 as National Vietnam War Veterans Day. March 29 is a fitting choice for a day honoring Vietnam veterans. It was chosen to be observed in perpetuity as March 29, 1973 was the day United States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam was disestablished and also the day the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam. In addition, on and around this same day Hanoi released the last of its acknowledged prisoners of war.

One week left to get your banners in for this year and thank you to those who have turned them in already. It will be exciting to see the new banners we will be sharing them with everyone once the proofing process has been completed.

The deadline is approaching fast, make sure if you would like to have a Banner done this year to fill out the application and have it turned in before April 1st. Just a month yet to put in your applications for the Hometown Hero Banner Program. We have eleven new banner applications so far for this year! If you would like to have your hero put on a banner this year you have until April 1st to get them turned into Juli Jones (Borough Secretary/Treasurer). If not in by then there will be another opportunity next year. In order to make sure everything is correct and for the company to get the proofs, then make the banners it takes a while. The banners are hung between Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Please share with people that are not on Facebook.
