Brothers Rick, Eric and Jay von Czoernig are 6th generation brewers. Their great-great-grandfather founded Schmidt Brewing in Philadelphia in 1860. (The same year McGillin's opened)! January 17 is a BIG day in McGillin's history! * 15 years ago today, Sons of Ben was born here AND * 21 years ago today (UPDATE: 22+ years!), Tammy, our daytime bartender, started working here. She started out making sandwiches, became a server & then went to bartending school and the rest is history!... Opening today at 4 pm.
