Restocked with Mozes Maple Leaf Farm pork! We were happy to see how quickly you were to try out their food. We've got more smoked pork chops, pork butt roast, spare ribs, and we now carry fresh pork chops and salt cured, hickory smoked ham in both slices and half-ham quantities! These will be in our new fridges/freezers at the Market House!

April 17th, a food drive is being organized by Global Citizen Scholars at Allegheny College. Contact them if you'd like for them to pick it up, or you can drop it off at two different locations! Thank you for your work to help our community :)

Let's get through this pandemic together. Thank you for supporting local businesses!

We love to see what you've done with the good stuff from Fat Hawk Farm, Orange Dot Homestead, Full Moon Mushrooms and Strawberry Lane Produce, all local producers!

Wow! We shared the photo of the carrots from Strawberry Lane Produce, but they've been much busier! They just dropped off a fresh delivery of carrots, leeks, daikon, watermelon radishes, Chinese cabbage, and red onions! We'll see you soon!

Even though there's snow on the ground, local food is still coming out of the soil! Come find it when it's here on Thursday!

While the Market House will be closed at 5pm today, we hope you will come downtown and enjoy the Light Up Night activities that the Meadville Independent Business Alliance (and the businesses within) has pulled together. It will be a fun, but safe event and shopping experience for our community. There will be 30 ice sculptures dotting the sidewalks of our Downtown (and the Market House has sponsored one of them!). Chestnut Street from Water St to Diamond Park will be closed ...to allow people ample space to distance and walk around, cross streets open. There will be music, games, the Strudel Factory, and of course, shop local! Event is from 5:00PM - 8:00PM Downtown Meadville/Chestnut Street. https://www.facebook.com/events/401615057688305/

We recognize that there is a lot of emotion around the ending of the Market House's partnership with the Market House Grille. It was a difficult decision, and we wish Cindy the best in all her future endeavors. We are excited to announce that the couple behind Kettle Lake Kitchen will be moving into the Market House, and we are looking forward to seeing the locally-sourced, globally-inspired creations that they will bring to the table, with ample options for meat-eaters, vege...tarians, and vegans. If you've been to their location in Conneaut Lake or picked up one of their often-sold-out to-go meals from the Market House this summer, you already know to expect great things. We wanted to take a moment to answer some of the questions that have been coming up regarding this move. Q: Why was the lease not renewed? A: The lease expired in October, and the Market House Authority solicited proposals for potential tenants of the space. We received 3: they were from the Market House Grille, Zest Kitchen and Pantry, and Kettle Lake Kitchen, whose proposal was ultimately voted on and accepted yesterday, December 2, at the Authority's regular public meeting. Thank you to all who submitted proposals. Q: Why was Kettle Lake's proposal chosen over the others? A: We were excited to read Kettle Lake's proposal (which you can read here https://bit.ly/39MD4j8) for how they planned to be a bigger partner in the Market House's role in showcasing local foods and as a hub for the community. They have a track record of working with the same local farmers that we've hosted at our farmers markets, and we're excited to see them expand their menu to breakfast/brunch, in addition to lunch and dinner. Q: Why now? A: The Market House Authority has been taking steps to improve the experience our customers have when they come into the heart of Meadville. You may know that we are renovating the Market House and are looking ahead to the future as we celebrate our 150th year. As the lease expired in October, it was a chance to ask potential tenants to share their vision, and we are looking forward to sharing that with you.
