A stirring story and lovely illustrations create a multi-layered tale that is both charming and thought-provoking. Sidney & Norman uses the simple context of two pigs living next door to each other to communicate a profound truth about how we judge each other and often judge ourselves. On the surface, Sidney & Norman appears to be a picture book that will entertain kids. But this story has deeply moved adult audiences as well and can help us reconsider how much God loves us and how we love each other. Written by Phil Vischer (yes, that one). And illustrated by Justin Gerard.

Not to be confused with the BMW 680i though both will prove to be a smooth ride.

Welcome to MPC worship online. This is our fifth Sunday in our "Gifts That Keep on Giving" sermon series. Due to the beautiful complexities of culture, ethnicity, family, and society, participating in the giving and receiving of gifts is fraught with potential conflicts, confusions, and perhaps outright bad surprises. Accepting gifts graciously can sometimes be a challenge. With the commercialized gift-giving season behind us, let’s focus on some of God’s unexpected gifts ...that we can enjoy long after the Christmas tree has been hauled away gifts that reveal themselves in new ways as time goes on. This Gospel-based series is about recognizing the often-surprising gifts that are extended to humanity and are ours to receive if we are bold and loving enough to accept them. YOUR GIFTS TO MECHANICSBURG PRESBYTERIAN MATTER NOW MORE THAN EVER! We are so thankful for your gifts to the church during this time when we cannot be together and yet our expenses continue. Your generosity in this time makes a big difference! You can give online at https://bit.ly/mpc-online-giving (or via the Online Giving tab on our website: www.mechpresby.org); or via a check made payable to Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church and mailed to 300 E. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. There is NO outdoor worship today.

As you prepare to worship at home Silence your cell phone as you would in the Sanctuary. Find or create a space of beauty. Plan on giving yourself to God for the duration of worship, rather than multitasking. Invite others in your home to worship with you. ... Get your Bible and a journal. It is the third Sunday in Advent and if you have your candles that you picked from us, you can get your own Advent wreath/candles to light with us. ________________________________________________________ Offerings to the ministries and mission of Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church can be given online: https://bit.ly/mpc-online-giving Or mailed to: 300 E. Simpson St, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055

"When God Was a Little Girl" by David R. Weiss (Author), Joan Hernandez Lindeman (Illustrator) Tell me a story, Daddy about when God was a little girl. Susanna’s playful request begins a whimsically profound tale woven between father and daughter. Together they retell the familiar story of creation, but with unexpected twists and insightful turns along the way. The exuberant joy of God’s creative energy sparkles in this tale that honors both interconnection and diversity. Between the gentle wisdom in the text and the beautiful paintings that accompany it, you may never think about God, creation, or yourself in quite the same way. https://whengodwasalittlegirl.com/
