For immediate release, October 5, 2020 Media Theatre Contact: Patrick Ward, 610-891-0100, or Trish Cofiell, 610-322-6806 Join Media’s virtual Halloween parade... Media Theatre partners with borough and businesses to ensure the annual Halloween parade tradition continues in Spooktacular. MEDIA It just wouldn’t be October in Everybody’s Hometown without the annual Halloween parade. Unfortunately, the current pandemic has forced the cancellation of the in-person parade of ghouls and gals, strutting their best costumes down State Street. But the staff at the Media Theatre invites everyone to keep the tradition alive, by showing off your best costumes in a virtual parade. The Media Theatre teams up with Media Borough and the Media Business Authority to present Spooktacular! A Virtual Halloween Party. It’s your opportunity to be creative and be seen online dressed in the costume of your choice. Even it it’s virtual, it’s important to show that the spirit is alive and well in Media! We’re all in this together, whether you’re the Ghostbusters, Princess Elsa, Phantom of the Opera, Harry Potter, Elvis, Jack the Pumpkin King or zombies. You can either send in a photo or video. All ages are invited. Dress up as a group, a family, an individual, a business. You are also invited to sing a song or recite some lines that go along with your character in a video format. Submit your photos or videos by Oct. 25 to join the video parade. The virtual Halloween parade will air online on the Media Theatre website and Facebook pages starting at 1 pm on Halloween day, Oct. 31, and will remain there for a few days. Efforts will be made to post it on the Media Business Authority sites including VisitMediaPA. Don’t miss this opportunity to be seen online dressed in the costume of your choice while singing a song from your favorite Halloween-themed show. It’s safe, socially-distanced, but still spirited and fun! We are Media Strong! To submit an entry: Photos in costume should be jpgs of good quality. Submit them to Patrick Ward at [email protected] [email protected]. Include your name and email. Media business owners are also invited to have their staff dress up and enter the parade. Video submissions should be no longer than 60 seconds. Sing a song or recite some memorable lines from your favorite character, and have fun. Use the highest quality image from your iPhone or camera (1080p is suggested as it has best video quality. If you use 720p the image may be blurred.) Be sure to say your name in the clip so that all of your friends and family will remember your Spooktacular! submission. Get it to us by Oct. 25 by using this Google Drive link: http://tinyurl.com/y25zeods Spooktacular! A Musical Halloween Parade will suddenly appear on the theatre website at 1 pm Oct. 31. Email [email protected] or [email protected] for questions. Happy Halloween!
