Be sure to pay attention to any strange noises or vibrations your car or truck may be making. Being proactive can save a you from more costly repairs down the road. This is a universal joint that was on the verge of failure. The owner said he had been having the problem (noise)for several months. When a u joint fails signifficant damage or even a loss of control can result. This customer was very fortunate!!!

Just a reminder to test your 4 Wheel Drive system opperation. Many of the 4wd problems we repair are actuator and or vacuum related. Better to be proactive and test them now than when there is snow on the ground!!!! If you are experiencing a problem give us a call. 215 855 5123
Meenan Transmission will be closing at 5pm today so we can take our kids out early for trick or treating. We hope getting the children out early will maximize the amount of candy they get for us!!! Happy Halloween!!!
Great video on the ZF 6hp series transmission. This transmission is used in a variety of applications. Ford uses this transmission in the Mustang and F150. BMW uses this transmission in many of their vehicles as well. https://youtu.be/YfyABKBhEcE

It is nice when the manufacturer updates a part to fix the cause of a failure. https://youtu.be/zJpU8Dn-fk4
The Classics are coming out of the wood work to get their transmissions working well for summer time car shows. Can any one tell us what year these Thunderbirds are?
Very detailed inspection of all internal parts is critical. This photo shows a thrust bearing that is damaged and requires replacement. It's detailed inspection like this that will make the difference in the longevity of a transmission.

Multiple codes in this 99 Acura 3.2 Tl caused by a mouse or another rodent in the passenger compartment. The damage that can be caused by rodent is usually in the engine compartment but damage on interior wiring is also possible. Don't ignore evidence of a rodent as the damage they can create can leave you stranded on the side of the road.
This is a bearing from a transmission out of a 1970 Dodge restoration project. One of our partner shops Bent Metal Customs installed the transmission that was supposed to be freshly rebuilt by another shop. It made noise in every gear. Proper component inspection is a critical part of the rebuilding process.
There are repairs like this one that we see on a regular basis that leave us speachless!!!!
What a great way for a customer to start his spring off. What he thought was going to require a transmission rebuild was only a matter of fixing the geometry of a kick down linkage on his Studebaker. The linkage was damaged after a rear end impact. You never know what you will see here!!
Practicing what we preach. This is our 2008 Dodge Caravan that just turned 200 thousand miles. Many customers think that 100 thousand miles is the end of the road for an automobile. Truth is with proper maintenance and up keep 100k is only the beginning. This was a vehicle that a customer did not want to repair and instead of spending the money to fix it they threw it out like an old DVD player. Truth is that frequent new car purchases are one of the worst financial decisions that consumers make due to their exorbitant depreciation. Save your money and keep it going!!!
It never ceases to amaze me some of the creative repairs we find on plow trucks.
The snow is coming!!!!Check your four wheel drive before you need it!!! It's a good idea to cycle four-wheel drive system periodically before you need it. Like and share this post with anyone who is going to be hit with winter weather!! Be safe. If your four wheel drive is giving you problems give us a call at 215 855 5123
Friends don't let friends beat their car.
Having trouble shifting your transmission? It may be a simple fix! This is a neutral safety switch from a Ford F350. After years of exposure to road salt the shaft that moves the manual valve tends to rust causing a binding of the neutral safety switch pivot. The switch and the shaft were replaced during a transmission service and now works as good as new!!! When this shaft is replaced it is coated with anticorrosion material to prevent the problem from reoccurring!!
A great day for a Hummer install
