Hey guys, it's been a while and I hope this note finds you and your loved ones well. Like everyone, I've been trying to navigate these uncharted waters, taking one day at a time. I recently decided to keep our beloved Melody Place Studios property and teach piano from the smaller building. (Wohoo! It's nice to be home.) I'm doing online and in-person (with a mask) lessons. With summer approaching I'm taking on new students for the summer day sessions. Right now they will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. They can be 1/2 or 1 hour lessons. So if you'd like to take piano or even beginner guitar just for some summer fun, give me a call and I'll can pencil you in. Stay safe! :)
Here is our friend and amazing piano/ voice teacher, Cheryl Martin's Virtual Recital. Cheryl had her students film themselves playing a favorite piece of music. Wonderful idea to in these unique times: Give it a listen! https://youtu.be/c3RvLxHciWw
All things must pass. We had a great run teaching music from this location but like everyone, Covid is making us rethink and reset. If you know anyone looking for a lovely property in a well trafficked area (but not crazy) with office space galore, tell them to check it out. My family of teachers, students and their families who frequented Melody Place for the last 10 years created a warm, cozy space to pass on to the next person(s) to start their next adventure. I will continue to teacher piano at my new location (just other side of the Feed Store) at 5800A Jonestown Rd. Stop in and say "hello" ! https://matrix.brightmls.com/Matrix/Public/Portal.aspx
Dear Melody Place students and families, I hope this note finds you all healthy and enjoying your summer. Over the past 6 months I have tried to find ways to deliver lessons safely. Obviously on-line is the safest. I thought about staggered schedules and sanitizing in-between students but believe it would be very difficult with our setup. So I decided to restructure Melody Place. First, as of Sept. 1 all teachers will take charge of their students. You will work with your te...acher for schedules and payment will be made directly to them. This is being done with the hopes that some teachers, being around less people than you have at Melody Place, can teach in-person too, if they so desire. That is the goal. Also, Melody Place has moved down a block to 5800A Paxtonia Plaza will continue on-line lessons and in-person lessons for piano. This smaller facility makes it easier for me the keep sanitized and safe as possible. So if you are considering either , give me a call. Pizza Jams are on hold till the "coast is clear" . Stay safe and have a good rest of the summer! thanks Frank :) See more
Dear Melody Place students and families, I hope this note finds you all healthy and happy. At Melody Place we are discussing how we come back from this unique experience . There are so many health variables with families to consider as we teach in very close proximity to one another. ... The teachers and myself have and will put health and safety before income. Online has been going well. To be honest, I wasn't sure how it would go, but actually it's ok. I still prefer in-person though. So online is the safest alternative. We are discussing staggered days in bigger rooms to keep our distance. This works for some but not all instruments. I also have to take into account not only the living situations and health conditions of our students, but also that of the teachers. So, I would like to hear the thoughts of students or their parents/guardians on what would make one feel safe to start up lessons here again... besides a vaccine! :) (please no politics! lol) Please don't respond here but to our email address: [email protected] Thanks and stay safe! Sincerely, Frank
This was fun! :) At the end of our piano lesson Scarlett and I jammed as she played the harmonic and I the piano.
Piano students (and others students as well :)) check this fun info out. https://sound-unsound.com/who-invented-the-keyboard-piano/
