Blessings to you & yours!
Christmas blessings to all!
A few of the dedicated team members who stayed overnight to ensure that residents continued to get top-notch care! Thanks to all of them and to the staff members who braved the snowy roads to get in. You're heroes!
Roy Peters, cousin of one of our finance team members (Pauline Metzler) has shared this painting with Mennonite Home over the holiday season to spread some Christmas joy. Roy is 70 years old and in his own words: "observing and participating in life and all the stuff God wanted him to enjoy and have fun with. Wife Miriam does the cleaning up and getting things in some semblance of order in Willow Street, Pa. after his creative brain is struck by lightning with new ideas." Af...ter those seventy years of learning knowledge, he jokingly says has retained little wisdom. "Taking his gift from God, interpreting the world and the glorious creation of God. Painting to have fun with color and the challenge of blank canvases. Using all mediums. It's been a rough year for us all. I hope each who looks at this can make the same statement, Come, Lord Jesus for we need you to find our way. God bless all this wonderful season," says Roy. See more

Starting today and continuing daily through Christmas Eve, we will be sharing some of the Woodcrest Villa A-Door-Able holiday door decorating contest entries (hereby known as the 12 doors of Christmas). Today’s featured door comes to us from the security team.
Today skilled nursing residents enjoyed an indoor summertime picnic with hot dogs, macaroni salad, potato salad, baked beans, pineapple upside down cake, watermelon and cool, refreshing lemonade along with some festive decorations.
A moment of sweetness as a great-granddaughter wishes her great-grandmother a happy 101 birthday through the window at Mennonite Home (photos used with permission from the family).
A sampling of Santa's "Night Before Christmas" reading at Mennonite Home, which was televised for all residents to enjoy in the privacy of their own rooms.
It's a bittersweet day as we say Happy Retirement to Greg Pierce, Director of Development. We shall miss him, but we also wish him all the best and many years of enjoying his well-earned free time!
Have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July!
It's the final day of CNA week and we had to give a huge shout out and virtual hug to all of our wonderful caregivers! Thank you!

Mennonite Home Communities joins the millions of people in the United States and around the world who have been shocked and dismayed by the killing of George Floyd. Our Christian heritage and Core Values support the utmost value of all human beings. We celebrate the rich diversity of our individual team members as a key reason why year after year we are able to provide outstanding care to our precious residents. To that end, we have taken action by inviting interested team members to join in a conversation and offer suggestions about how we can learn and grow from this tragedy. Our hope is to expand our efforts to cultivate a workplace and community that celebrates and welcomes diversity.
We remember and are thankful!
Belated thanks to Torres Family Bakery for the delicious empanadas, Scheid Produce for the carrots, apples and fruit baskets and Murray Insurance for the yummy cookies! A wonderful celebration lunch for Skilled Nursing Home Week!
