Christ is risen!
This is the night that Christ the Son of Man gathered with his disciples in the upper room. This is the night that Christ our Lord and Master took a towel and washed the disciples’ feet, calling us to love one another as he has loved us. This is the night that Christ our God gave us this holy feast, that we who eat this bread and drink this cup may here proclaim his perfect sacrifice. This is the night that Christ the Lamb of God gave himself into the... hands of those who would slay him. (Opening Acclamation for Maundy Thursday) See more
Dear Neighbors, if anyone is out of work and needs food, contact one of the organizations in this article. If anyone is healthy and doesn't have children or an elderly person in their care, please consider volunteering the sudden free time to help get food to everyone who needs it. https://www.inquirer.com//coronavirus-shutdown-philadelphi
Dear friends and neighbors, we will be having a service of Morning Prayer at 10:30am on Sunday March 13, 2020. We are taking the following precautions regarding the coronavirus: 1. Anyone with symptoms in the past 14 days similar to those of COVID-19 are asked to stay home and join us via Zoom (see below). 2. We also recommend staying home (and joining by Zoom) to anyone in the medical community, over the age of 60, in a group considered medically vulnerable, and/or uncomfor...table risking potential exposure. 3. Door handles and the bathroom will be sanitized with bleach 4. We ask attendees use the hand sanitizer available in the sanctuary and other places in the church 5. Creative alternatives to hugging and hand-shaking are encouraged 6. After the service, a lighter lunch will be served, and the usual fellowship "hour" will be brief Anyone is welcome to attend the service via Zoom, which is accessible through an app or a phone call. If you are interested in this option, please email [email protected] for the access info.
Today we contemplate our mortality through Scripture readings and the practice of having ashes placed on our foreheads with the words, "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return."
This Sunday (Feb 9th) we are meeting together as a parish after our usual morning service in order to celebrate our first full calendar year in Germantown, vote in new lay leaders, and hear from Fr. Bo about where we're headed in 2020. All are welcome.
