Maple Grove Mennonite Church

Out of this group, who would you pick to be your next leader/pastor? This was Samuel's task in picking Israel's next king in 1 Samuel 16. Samuel (and we) look on the outside: looks, charisma, gifts. God looks at the heart. Come join us this week as we visit this story. We are also celebrating the graduation of 2 of our students and are having Children's Church. King Uzziah was dead. It was a national crisis. Isaiah goes to the temple. What he saw and experienced is the story we will be hearing from Isaiah 6 this Sunday. In addition, we will be celebrating Jim and Rhoda Campbell's 50th anniversary and also having Tom Fox, a member of the Gideons, sharing a bit about their ministry. Worship begins at 10:30. Whose birthday is this Sunday? OURS! The church was born on Pentecost. Come celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit, even though the original disciples were not so sure they wanted this gift in exchange for Jesus. We will look at what Jesus told them about the coming of the Spirit in John's gospel so that their hearts would no longer be troubled. In addition to this, we have a Dwelling in the Word from Romans 12 by Kathy Yutzy, Children's Church, and we are receiving a couple as members. Worship is at 10:30 and Sunday School is at 9:30. If you do not have a church home, you are welcome to come. NO, you do not have to be born a Mennonite to be part of a Mennonite Church!!
