A few years ago, Mike, an Animal Manager at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and member of #DisneyTeamWildlife, had the opportunity to travel to Uganda to witness ...the monumental success of white rhino conservation in the region. He visited the growing population of white rhinos on the Ziwa Reserve, including Nandi and Hasani, two rhinos originally from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park! Hasani is doing well and is in the background of Mike’s picture here. Nandi is also doing great! She went from being shy, to becoming the leader of the female rhinos. She even gave birth to the first rhino in Uganda in nearly 30 years! This was the first of many births for the rhinos at Ziwa and the crash has grown from the original six rhinos to over 30 living at the reserve today!
