Dear Friends and Patrons of MAC Ballet! We're back!! After a long interrupted season, Dance Spectrum is back! Originally scheduled for Dance Spectrum 2020, my staging of "PAQUITA" was sidelined because of the pandemic! However, as the country and Pittsburgh is returning to some normalcy, Seton Hill Department of Theatre and Dance will finally present "PAQUITA" ~ a very scaled back staging by Gerard W. Holt! Come out to the McKenna Courtyard on the campus of Seton Hill Unive...rsity, and welcome the students back to the stage! The performances are outdoors to allow for proper covid guidelines! Performances are scheduled for Saturday, May 8th, 1pm and 6pm! Hope to see you all there! And ... welcome back audiences and Seton Hill Department of Theatre and Dance! Gerard W. Dear Friends and Patrons of MAC Ballet, One of my jobs for the past four years has been principal ballet and pointe technique instructor / choreographer for Pennsylvania Academia of Dance in Sewickley PA! As any instructor or teacher knows that the more time one invests in ones students one cannot help but to feel like they will always be there! As such, one of our senior and principal students will be graduating and I'd like to take this moment to say "CONGRATULATIONS" to ou...r principal graduating student Mary Savacchia! Mary has been an anchor and principal dancer of the school for a very long time and although we are proud that Mary is moving on to bigger and better endeavors, it is still a "bitter sweet" time! This past weekend at PA Academy of Dance Spring Showcase Mary danced all of her pieces brilliantly ~ and below is a sample of two of the ballet variations that Mary danced wonderfully ~ Aurora Act 1 Variation from Sleeping Beauty, and the Principal Female variation from Satanella! Even though Mary is moving on, it is wonderful to look at this sample video and see how much she has accomplished and grown! Again, "CONGRATS" Mary! Brilliant job!! Gerard W.
