Middleburg Revitalization

For those of you inquiring about our activities, there will not be a Heritage Festival.

Happy Spring! A little snow in the northern counties, cold temps here this morning and now the sun shines through. Mother Nature has a whole bag of tricks and she’s playing them all at one time. With the income of Covid 19 I have seen such an increase in outdoor activities. By this time I’m sure we all know every nook and crannie of our homes! The Middleburg lake has been entertaining many faces in the midst of the at home phase. Fishing seems to be good ; when the fis...herman’s at one end of the lake, the fish are jumpin’ at the other! Dogs are getting to enjoy many more walks and much needed playtime. And of course the Eagle continues to visit on his usual perch. Making several loops around the lakes edge each day, I have noticed more litter. Please, if you visit the lake and enjoy what it has to offer, take your litter along home. But at the same time, enjoy one of Middleburgs gems with your family. It’s a great nature lesson for your children as well. As we re-enter the social scene, continue to practice distancing and abide by the facial masks required (where mandated.) hopefully we can soonall feel a little more relaxed in our lives living among so many changes. Spring is approaching and the town will be buzzing with activity. Been a mild winter and for that we are grateful. The Revitalization Committee is in urgent need of members. If you are a concerned citizen and have ideas that would benefit and enhance the community, then by all means, help to bring them to fruition. Events in the past were well received but in order to continue, we need people. Volnteers have ALWAYS been appreciated; however, keeping abreast of what is happening and putting together the plans at regular monthly meetings is most vital to the existence of the committee. The next scheduled meeting is March 24th at 7 p.m. at the Borough Building (use side entrance please).

We are anxiously awaiting the upcoming construction of the project (TIMBERHAVEN) Charles Park pavilion! Brenda Dombrowski, project head, has been coordinating necessary steps to see that it happens! We have been blessed with so many local and community businesss willing to DONATE their talents and services. These are all people who truly care about the community they live in. We continue to grow and look forward to continuing tradition on the oldest street in Middleburg.
