Looking at some old photos today, and came across a couple from my early days of photography, as a young photographer. Back in the days of film, we didn't have the LCD cheater screen to shoot 1000 images and hope one came out. Usually on these assignments, we also shot 16mm movies. The CH-47D was the kick off ceremony for the D-MOD program with Boeing Vertol and the US Army. The 3 Chinooks together were an "A", "B" and "C" model, which many saw flight time in Vietnam. This... was shot at Fort Rucker, AL. The single image of the CH-47 was taken at the Pentagon, and the fancy Red White and Blue CH-47D, flying past Lady Liberty was one of the first commercial D-Models built for British Airways, which also spent a lot of time in the North Sea, transporting staff to oil rigs. Back in the day when film ruled!! See more

Sharing some images created for one of my Architectural clients for award submissions. It's so nice to see these projects win awards, which are important to the client to often acquire new business. In almost all cases, the judges are not familiar with the project or the location, so the submission is dependent on the verbiage and photograhy. Mike Mihalo Photography... Harrisburg, PA See more

With the first major snow storm of 2020, it was nice to take a snow day, and photograph some trains. It's always nice to get out and create images for our stock library.

Creating your own assignment! Sometimes it's just fun to create your own project. The objective was to capture the mother Robin feeding her young. The project ran over a time frame of 5 - 7 days. Some minor trimming needed to be done to allow for both natural light to fill the scene, and to be able to get a remote camera in place.... The next step was to place an old can on a tripod, so the Robin would not be afraid of the new object at her nest. This was in place for a day or so. Now the camera was put in place, and now it was just time to wait out the lighting and mom. It was an afternoon light, so there was a lot of waiting. Everything was tethered to a laptop on live view. The camera was also wrapped to keep noise down. After a few attempts, this was one of the images.

Hotel Photos at HIA The client was very specific on this project. They wanted to see the newly built hotel, the tower and an aircraft taking off. This involved just a few agencies. First off, in today's world, you just don't go out, set a camera up, aimed at the runway and tower and then hang out on airport property, and then do it a night.... This project involved the airport police, homeland security, the hotel and airport manager and of course the tower. Was not the type of project that you just showed up to create.

A day of golf! Our client was looking for pictorials to promote their gold course, so we spent the day out on the golf course.
