Listen up. We're coming back. We missed you. See ya next week...
A lot of people have reached out to us over the last week asking how are we doing? They saw the images of mass protests and police crackdowns and retribution and looting in Philadelphia. Did the MilkBoy bars get damaged during the protests? Is MilkBoy the Studio ok? How are WE feeling? These are difficult and challenging times for sure, but despite it all we're feeling good. PROUD of our city, is how we're really feeling. Proud that Philadelphia is marching with the rest of ...the country and the world to demonstrate that BLACK LIVES MATTER. Proud that so many Philadelphians understand that it's black lives we are talking about... and that is not an affront to any other race or institution. Proud that we live in a racially diverse city that has an equally diverse representation in City Council. Proud of the multitude of races and nationalities that we have in positions of leadership in our culture and our businesses in Philadelphia. Proud of our LGBT community. Proud of our sports teams. Proud that our police are generally regarded positively and proud of the emphasis on community policing on bikes that helps make positive impressions. Proud of our musical scene. We are proud of our intelligent, diverse family of staff at MilkBoy. We know what Philadelphia is and who lives here. We know that Philadelphians are open-minded people of all races who live together, love together, make music together and eat and drink together. And in Philadelphia, we march against racism together. This is the City of Brotherly Love and we all saw it in the multitudes of people who have been marching and staging peaceful protests. We all deserve the rights that were guaranteed to all Americans in our constitution. In this moment, we are hopeful that this time there will be real change and at MilkBoy we fully support that change.
Some of our Family needs help, so we can get back to pouring the Milk as soon as possible.
