Dear MU Students, Assalamu Alaykum and Ramadan Mubarak! We hope and pray that you and your families are staying healthy. We are excited to welcome Ramadan this week. Ramadan is observed by Muslim communities as a holy month. During this month, many Muslims will increase their participation in religious observance, self-reflection, practicing good deeds, and daily fasting from dawn until dusk. Ramadan begins on Monday, April 12th with the first day of fasting on Tuesday, April... 13th. The observance will continue until Wednesday, May 12th. Millersville University is committed to supporting those in our community who observe this holy month and understand that this year’s observance continues to be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has resulted in remote learning, social distancing, and a change in how we navigate the world and we understand that these changes will impact how individuals observe. Although very challenging, this can also serve as an excellent opportunity for us to benefit even more and to enrich our spiritual growth. For our students observing Ramadan, we know that the current state of the world continues to impact how you will observe. Know that we are here to support you and if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We have sent out a communication about Ramadan and COVID-19 implications via ‘Ville Daily as helpful information for faculty and staff’s awareness.
