#ICYMI: Milton Hershey School students embody determination when pursuing their dreams and creating bright futures. A member of the Class of 2021, Lydia, is one example. With a passion for music and performing arts, she set her sights on advancing through the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) district, regional, and state orchestra competitions this spring. However, COVID-19 suddenly hit and competitions were canceled. That did not stop Lydia from pursuing her dreams: https://youtu.be/mpl5qXwAJh8. #MHSSpartanStrong

Day 10: On the fifth day of the MHS 12 Days of Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Gurt gave out Spartan Croc jibbitz to all students. The jibbitz can be added to their house shoes as a permanent reminder that the Spartan is not just our mascot but also our mindset. Spartans are resilient, courageous, determined, and loyal. As they place their Croc jibbit on their house shoes, they can think about all the ways that they can show they're Spartan strong every day. #ICYMI: At Milton Hershey School, student success is a result of continual support from the entire MHS community, including parents/sponsors. Whether parents/sponsors live a few minutes, a few hours, or a few states away from MHS, their support makes a difference in the lives of students, academically as well as socially and emotionally. Through the Career and Technical Education program at Milton Hershey School, students and staff get to transform real-world problems into fun and digestible solutions. In the Culinary Arts career pathway, that can happen quite literally with a short trip over to the MHS Horticulture Center. While learning about the importance of local farms and food, students in the Advanced Culinary Arts class sample fresh produce and herbs. Then they return to the kitchen with new knowledge and inspiration to help them create flavorful menus. #CTEatMHS

Milton Hershey School employees are the BEST! Last Friday, the members of the MHS Finance Department showed up early to celebrate and encourage the Class of 2021 as they walked to school. It’s another glimpse at how our campus community is keeping Our Future in Focus through activities like Focus Fridays. Seniors appreciated the support and were surprised to learn that those dancing pillow people characters were actually MHS employees. #MHSSpartanStrong #MiltGrad2021

If you have ever visited Founders Hall, you may recognize the fountain sculpture, Oceanus. Fondly referred to as the fish fountain by the MHS community, this sculpture was designed by Aristides Demetrios, a well-known and award-winning sculptor from San Francisco. To the artist, the sculpture represents the playful nature of the young students attending Milton Hershey School. Aristides suggested that a school of fish leaping out of water to capture a rising fly best represented the joy reflected in the student body of the school. Currently, the fifty-three fish are being restored as part of the construction happening at Founders Hall. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3iklwMR #FoundersHallHershey
