MMTM volunteer Barry Mabus changes our open house schedule on the sign board outside of the Moose building last night. If you are in the area you can stop by and see when we are going to be open or stay tuned here for upcoming events.
Greetings followers of the MMTM Facebook Page. I know it has been a while since anything has been posted to the page but it has been a little quiet there for a few weeks. Usually this time of the year the museum opens it's doors to everyone to see the layout, some are just coming for the first time and some are return visitors that want to see what we have changed, but unfortunately due to the Covid-19 pandemic we we not able to open our doors. It was a tough decision to make... but for the safety and well being of our volunteers we decided against opening. Yes seeing the smiles on a youngsters face as they enjoyed looking around the layout of watching a an older train enthusiast take it in were definitely missed or even watching a little one do laps around pushing the buttons were missed. This is probably the first time the museum hasn't been open for the Christmas Season open houses since it opened in 2007. I hope you will join us when we can have visitors again. Thank you all for following the MMTM Facebook Page. John S. Nevill Jr. MMTM Facebook Page Co-administrator See more
Here it is!! The complete "Up Close And Personal" video slideshow with music. This was not going to be put on the site for a couple of weeks yet but with the open houses being cancelled it was pushed ahead. Enjoy!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olau4hbhUYw&feature=youtu.be

The "Polar Expres" video blooper ! The tunnel entrance is lower than we thought but the hobo took it like a crash test dummy. The kids are good at playing limbo.
Sometimes a person can walk around the layout numerous times and still miss things, like on the 2 photographs shown here. Fortunately the layout has "cutouts" that are placed in different locations to make working on the platform easier and also allows for different angles to do photography. The church shown here is easy to see but the mural on the back you have to take a really good look to catch it. The car that ran into the deer sits near the bridge that goes up the mounta...in also can be seen but being able to go through one of the cutouts shows it in a different perspective. These photos will be shown at our open houses on one of the tv's (along with a lot more that still have to be taken) starting the Friday night after Thanksgiving and every weekend through December. If you are interested in our schedule, the dates are in the "events" area of our Facebook page. Have a great day everyone!! See more
Hello MMTM followers we have a closer view of the new engine house in the railyard. It will have a plexiglass roof so you see the details inside like the overhead crane , toolboxes and drums . The crew will be working on the weathering and track modifications shortly.
Hello MMTM followers we are all disappointed about this year cancellation of the open house dates. So to bring up spirits we did a "Polar Express" reenactment shoot that we hope that everybody will enjoy.
