I'm dreaming of taking an actual vacation with my family, maybe hoping on a plane and going to Aruba! While that won't happen for a VERY long time, I think I can settle for a long weekend at the beach with the family. Good thing about being so busy this year?... + I'm adding so many couples to the MEP Family + I get to revisit some of my favorite families! + Visiting so many new venues & locations Negatives about being so busy? + I have to really coordinate my family's schedule for a vacation! I think we can live with that, though. Good thing we're only about 2 hours from the beach- our family has made so many day trips to OCNJ since Abby was born. Every year we go we squeeze everyone into a photo booth & get our family picture taken. At this point it's more of a tradition, and every year no one is ever looking at the camera at the same time. Last year we skipped the beach, for obvious reasons. This year though, we're going to be making more "beach memories" together! Do you guys have any vacation plans after a long year?

Happy Monday, Everyone! I have some exciting news that you may have seen me posting about on my stories yesterday. Over the past few weeks I have been working on something (tax deductible) for Small Business Owners! Sometimes we forget that being an entrepreneur means that we give our entire selves to start up our business, something that was once just a dream that slowly worked it's way into reality. With a lot of help behind the scenes, your business is what it is today.... Because of you! That work, that hustle, it sometimes takes a toll on our mental state. I don't even want to mention the "C" word... (Comparison!) I know because I've been there! I've been the one feeling bad for myself because I'm not "where I should be" or because she's going at a pace that I can't match. I've learned that while I will be happy for my photographer friends & I will be cheering them on all day every day, I won't be comparing myself any longer. My goal from now on is giving other entrepreneurs a helping hand- because that is what makes me happy! And I found the perfect way to do just that. Happy Friday! Time for an introduction for all the new faces we have here! We're Miranda & Drew, a husband & wife photography team with big dreams. Fun Facts about us:... + We've been married for 4 years + Together we have 2 beautiful (and strong-willed) daughters + I'm working on my BSW, slowly but surely! + Drew can fix just about any electronic (which is super helpful because I'm pretty useless with electronics- unless it's a camera!) + Right now we're pretty obsessed with Beast Master + Yang's > China's Best We're diving into Reels & that's been such a big learning experience! As long as I'm learning with this guy, I think it'll be okay. Drew is my second shooter, he comes with me to almost all engagement sessions & every single wedding. I love getting to share these intimate & romantic moments with him- each wedding truly holds a special place in our hearts, just like every couple we serve. We just opened our July Calendar, & it's already filling up! We only have 5 more dates open & I would truly truly love to add your family to our schedule. Moms & dads- I get it! I forget how much really goes into giving yourself the gift of a family portrait. I check my gear, grab a coffee, and head off to see you! But you- you've been prepping for the past 4 hours, you're holding everything together, and you might just be bribing your kids! I did all of this when my family had their photo session with Jade Nikkole Photography! I came up with a list of things that I may do differently next time.

Saturday mornings are for Horror movies & extra editing time before the kids & Drew wake up. If you saw last night's post about Abby liking to spend some 1-on-1 mommy time when I wake up extra early then you can guess who snuck downstairs to find me this morning.

It's Friday! What does that mean for you? Normally I work late on Friday nights and then wake up early Saturday mornings before the kids & Drew. It gives me some me time that I don't have too often, but lately Abagail has heard me rustling around downstairs and asks to hang out while I work.... Me time is nice, but I need some 1-on-1 time with my kids more often. Do you Friday nights look anything like mine?

Is "Double Posting Thursday" a thing? Does it still count if you double post on Friday... and Saturday... and Sunday? I can't help it that my clients are just the coolest people and choose the most beautiful venues to get married at.... Looking at you Hotel Hershey!

Engagement Season is almost here & I would love for you to help all the soon to be Married couples out there by giving them a piece of advice when it comes to planning their own wedding. Tell us! What advice did you need to hear when you were planning your own wedding? Was 1 vendor a must have for you, or did you overlook something so important that you will always suggest that other couples have? Big wedding or Elopement?... I will add my advice below!

"We hiked up a path in early October that lead us from the base of the mountain to these beautiful white cliffs that overlooked the Susquehanna River. I can’t stress to anyone how much I have wanted to bring a family or couple here, and in absolutely no way did it disappoint. The view was nothing but water and trees for miles, and though there were others there with us we felt completely alone & at absolute peace." My very first time at The White Cliffs of Conoy and it was just as magical as I was expecting! I have lived here my whole life and only now am I starting to explore these areas. Dont wait to do the things on your Bucket List, no matter how small they are!

It may have been because she looked like a princess or because they were laughing with everything they had. Let's talk about Bucket Lists! I have wanted to travel across the United States for years, but since we have two little girls traveling isn't something we do much of right now. I think the furthest we've made it since the kids were born is Tennessee back in 2018, but I want that to change! Earlier this year we bought a scratch off map of the United States and we have scratched off every state that we've been to as a couple, but our goal is to hit every single state (even Hawa...ii & Alaska)! We thought that we could start scratching off these states in 2020, but of course- for obvious reasons, that just didn't happen. We're not giving up hope though, and I'm still on the look out for any couples that might be in need of a photographer for their 2021-2022 wedding! I'm not the only one who benefits from this 50 States Adventure that we have going on, our couples also receive a discount for helping us achieve our goals!
