Now this was a great event. As The Cocktail Chef, I always try to create cool event options for SteelCity Mixology. This event was at a fantastic - Live, Work,... Play - apartment building Ollie at Baumhaus on Baum Boulvard in Shadyside/Bloomfield. Welcome to a Cocktail & Appetizer Night featuring: Craft Bar Pop-Up interactive bar stations and an Appetizer Demo feeding about 30. Featured cocktails For Valentine's Day: Chocolate Covered Cherry: cherry vodka, white creme de cacao, grenadine, cream, chocolate drizzle on glass And to pair with appetizer: Cupid s Arrow: vodka, lemon, rosemary, pear, strawberry slice garnish Featured Appetizer: Blue Cheese Crostini with Balsamic Roasted Grapes How to make: French bread baguettes sliced 1/4" thick. Shmear with a mixture of blue cheese and butter and bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes till nicely toasted. Separately, a mixture of half seedless red grapes, shallots, olive oil, salt, brown sugar, and most importantly, balsamic vinegar should be roasting at 450 till bubbly and a nice syrup has formed at the bottom of the pan. When the crostinis are nice and toasty, pull from oven and top with your grape mixture. Garnish with chopped pecans and fresh thyme. So much fun AND delicious!.
