Hello everyone out there in fb land! We are looking forward to receiving guests beginning May 8th as per the Governor's plan to cautiously reopen our part of the state. Along with my usual thorough cleaning I will be wiping all hand contact areas down with disinfectant for our guests' protection. I will also ask if guests would prefer to bring their own bedding. Things have changed a bit here at Misty Pines since last year. An addition and garage have been added to the Loft s...ide of the property and we will not be renting that side out to guests anymore. Sadly some of our bigger groups have had to leave us for larger accommodations. You know who you are and thank you, we'll miss you. The Whitetail IS still available and just as nice as ever. New this year will be WiFi service. Sorry, I know many of you enjoy being able to unplug while you are here but it is the one thing that guests have asked for that we didn't have. You can still tell your boss/kids there's no service here, just don't ask me for the password! Although the weather has been cool and wet, spring is persevering slowly and steadily. The grass is greening and the songbirds are returning with their cheerful singing. Elk are being seen more frequently on the property and some of the cows are definitely pregnant. Soon they and the deer will be shedding their shaggy hair to reveal their sleek new chestnut and rusty coats. The fishing has been good when the water is settled and spring gobbler has begun. Due to the required closure of all non-essential businesses and with sincere concern for everyone's health, we will not be taking any reservations for stays earlier than June 1st. This date is subject to change and may be moved to a later date as the situation warrants. If you are thinking of making a reservation for later in the year we can hold dates for you but will not be collecting deposits. As the Covid-19 crisis progresses, more reservations may need to be cancelled. Hopefully this will have passed before our busiest season of late summer and fall. We hope everyone is prepared and stays safe and that we may see you here at Misty Pines in the future.

After many hours and miles walked shed hunting to no avail, a kindly elk left me his set of antlers on the front lawn. Lucky me! We've been seeing elk more often than usual lately.
