It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the passing of our friend and co-founder of MJC IronWorks, Ted Whitmore. We have known Ted for over 30 years, and have never known another man of his caliber... a man of integrity, love and care. A lover of life and of family. He was our friend and our brother-in-arms. In many ways, he was the glue that held us together. A bad-ass bass and guitar player himself, Ted was an avid fan of music, and musicians, and loved connecting wi...th them. Anyone who interacted with him discovered quickly just what a huge heart he had. Ted unexpectedly left us this Memorial Day Weekend, at way too young an age. He leaves behind a wife and son (his most treasured things on earth) - a GoFundMe has been set up to provide support for them: https://www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-of-teddy-whitmore We loved Ted deeply and dearly, and are simply devastated that he is gone. But we are so incredibly grateful that we were graced with his presence for as long as we were. We cannot adequately express our sense of loss. We will miss his partnership, and his devotion to this company. We were blessed to walk this road with Ted while we could. We climbed many a mountain together and survived many a challenge... Ted will always be in our hearts, and his influence will always be felt. It won't ever be the same without him. Rest in peace, brother. See more

Just got a sick bass track from the amazing Vail Johnson. Vail has had an amazing career as the bassist for Stevie Nicks, Kenny G, Herbie Handcock, Keb Mo', You...ng MC, and countless other legendary artists. I remember seeing this clip air on the Arsenio Hall Show when I was a kid and being completely floored. Such an honor to get to work with Vail on these new Getdown tunes. Love it when life comes full circle. See more

A throwback to the Extension 5 featuring Frank Hueton (who, at 20 yrs old, would become Francis Rocco Prestia; his actual birth name), David Genthner, Jack Cast...illo, Mimi Castillo, and Jody Lopez. This was Emilio’s 2nd band and was named The Extension 5, later to be called The Gotham City Crime Fighters where we all dressed up as Robin and his brother Jack dressed up as Batman. His first band was The Roadrunners and that is the band that hired Rocco, then they changed the name. And the rest, is history.
