**PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT CLINIC UPDATE** Thank you for attending, volunteering and supporting Mission of Mercy Pittsburgh. While we were hopeful that we would still be able to have the 2020 event, after consulting with the leaders at the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Pennsylvania Dental Associationas well as the infectious disease specialists at UPMC we have made the very difficult decision to postpone the 2020 e...vent due to the COVID-19 public health crisis. The safety of our patients, volunteers and staff is paramount. We are proud of the outstanding work we’ve done over the past three years to bring vital dental care to those who need and deserve it most. Given the parallel economic crisis we’re also in the midst of, we know that the work of our mission will be needed even more than ever going forward. Please be assured we are working diligently on establishing dates for the 2021 event. We'll be posting an announcement as soon as we have the details. Stay safe and well!

PLEASE READ Thank you for supporting Mission of Mercy Pittsburgh! We value your kindness, commitment and generosity. And that’s why we wanted to reach out with an update on how COVID-19 may impact the 2020 event. As of now, Mission of Mercy Pittsburgh will take place as scheduled on July 24-25, 2020, and all of us on the MOMPGH team are moving forward with our plans. We are, however, very closely monitoring the situation regarding COVID-19 with our expert partners at UPMC..., the Allegheny County Health Department and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, as well as monitoring information and safety measures through the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). We are also working through several contingency plans and extra measures we can take to ensure the safety of our volunteers and patients. We are more than four months away from the mission weekend and are hopeful that we will be able to serve the community and provide them with the vital dental care that they both need and deserve. Just like with previous MOMPGH events, we will follow stringent sterilization and cleaning procedures for our equipment and instruments. As an added measure, we will screen patients for recent travel and/or COVID-19 symptoms before they enter PPG Paints Arena. We will also have added hand sanitization stations throughout our clinic [with 60% alcohol] and clear instructions around CDC recommendations for hand washing. In addition, we will be providing all volunteers with their own personal hand sanitizer, so they have direct access to maintaining proper hand sanitation.
