If you are looking for something fun to do on Halloween (Oct 31). Come down to the Montgomery Carnival Grounds. The MVFC Fall Festival and Pumpkin Roll will be going on from 10-4pm. Before you come, look through your cupboards and see if there's any canned goods/non-perishable foods that can be donated to the Footprints of Montgomery food pantry. They'll be accepting donations at the festival. Pumpkins will roll down W Houston Ave at 2pm. If you want to join the fun, stop by... the carnival grounds to see if any pumpkins are available. Tickets are being pre-sold ($5) and any unsold tickets will be for sale the day of the festival. The top ten pumpkins that roll the farthest win a prize (Grand prize of $200 with decreasing value according to place). The Block House Cafe will be serving up BBQ pork sandwiches with the fixings, We Sister's Bakery will be serving fresh pretzels, apple dumplings, pumpkin rolls, and whoopie pies. Becky's ice cream will be there too. We'll have fresh kettle corn, handmade chocolates, and Blackberry and Apple ciders. There's going to be fun for the kids too: a maze created from pallets, a costume contest (11am), coloring contest, Pumpkin tattooing, and of course our main event: the Pumpkin Roll! While the kids are playing, adults can get a started on Christmas gifts by shopping from a variety of local direct sales reps and artisans and crafters. Find that custom gift for that special someone while supporting local small businesses at the same time.
