Last year, we lost Alma Jacobs, a champion and mentor to women, and a powerhouse in politics, policy and in community activities. Her most recent activity was as chairperson of our Women’s Leadership Council at the Foundation and she was the Foundation’s first Woman of Distinction recipient in 2014. We remember her on the first anniversary of her passing in a year that is momentous for women's equality. The year marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendmen...t, guaranteeing women's right to vote. The efforts of women then paved the way for all women to stand as equal citizens and have a voice in our country's future. Alma's efforts too created new pathways and opportunities for many women. Through her many contributions throughout her life, and her bequest to the Foundation, Alma has left a lasting legacy. We will always be grateful for her support and her leadership.
