The beauty of Spring...

...and we have a white emu chick! Here is an example (from left to right) of brown (standard), blonde, white and a darker blonde emu chick. We still have 50+ (and counting) emu eggs incubating, so fingers crossed for some more white chicks this year. Happy Spring!

Some of you have asked about our emu egg incubators and emu chick brooder setup. Here is a short video showing our incubators and indoor brooder room (which we utilize until the temps warm and the chicks can be outside here in PA). We have lots of plants in here to utilize the carbon dioxide from the incubating eggs and the plants then turn it into oxygen. We also only use activated ozonated water in our incubators to keep the water sanitized each time we add fresh water. ... There is a hepa air purifier and ceiling fan for lots of ventilation for both the eggs and emu chicks. The incubators are opened several times a day to allow for fresh air exchange. And there are lots of windows in this room so the chicks have daily access to sunlight until the temps warm up and they can be outside. Attention: Everyone on our 2021 Emu Chick Waiting List We are still hatching lots of emu chicks each week and are going through the list and making contact with folks once we receive the DNA results back. We are asking you to get back to us in 24 hours to let us know if you want to reserve chicks once we contact you. However, we are simply having lots of people not reply back to us at all, therefore to be fair to everyone who is seriously waiting and ready for their emu chic...ks this season, we are asking you to drop us a message or an email letting us know that you are indeed ready to purchase your emu chicks and we will put priority on your chick reservation. Also, if you could let us know if you would take any other variations of gender or color, that could bump you up on the list depending on what hatches. So far we have not hatched any white chicks, but the chance is still there as we have some blondes paired and laying and have 47+ and counting eggs incubating. Our 2 year year old white hen did not choose a mate this year (emus can be finicky as we all know!) Thank you to everyone who has purchased emu chicks from us this year. We will be hatching emu chicks through the beginning of May and still have a few hens laying eggs so please watch your email inbox for our emails letting you know that we have your chicks available
