Maintaining physical fitness is essential for us to provide a high level of fire and emergency service to the residents and visitors of Moon Township. This morning, several members took the time to perform group physical training at the Public Safety Building. Activities such as this greatly improve our abilities to help those we serve. If you can see yourself in these shoes, stop by any Moon Township fire station on Monday nights at 7pm to learn more!

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless gas that is undetectable to human senses. A CO alarm is only way to detect it in your homestay safe by testing it monthly! More CO safety tips: http://bit.ly/2zgOj0k

From the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner Make it a fall back tradition! Change your clocks + change your alarm batteries this weekend. Working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors save lives. More tips:... Install smoke alarms in every sleeping room, outside each separate sleeping area, and on every level of the home. A smoke alarm should be on the ceiling or high on a wall. Test all smoke alarms at least once a month by pressing the test button. It is best to use interconnected smoke alarms. When one smoke alarm sounds, they all sound. People who are hard-of-hearing or deaf can use alarms with strobe lights and bed shakers. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3mIscq5 . #BeFireSafePA

Today closes our focus on Fire Prevention Week, but we will continue to share safety messages throughout the year. Today’s message is on smoke detectors. Smoke detectors are one of your home’s first lines of defense to identify and escape from a fire. It’s important they are checked regularly, installed in sleeping levels and on each level of the hole, and replaced when they 10 years old. Thanks for following our Fire Prevention Week posts. Please like and follow our page! S...tay safe. #mtvfc #firepreventionweek See more

If you have children, walk your home and make a map to locate doors and windows. Install smoke alarms in each sleeping area and on every level of your home. Every second counts! Follow the link below for more escape planning resources from the NFPA. Stay safe! https://www.nfpa.org//Staying/Preparedness/Escape-planning... #mtvfc #FirePreventionWeek

Have you ever had to call 911 for an emergency? If you have, you know it can be extremely stressful. Take a moment today and review the tips below for calling 911 with your family. Many households do not have landlines, so it’s important our family members understand how to use a smartphone in the event of an emergency. Review the NFPA guide on how to use a smartphone to call 911, when you don’t have the passcode. This is especially important to review with children who may ...not be able to read the word emergency. Stay safe! #mtvfc #FirePreventionWeek
