Monitor snow and ice conditions within Pennsylvania state parks before you head out with the state parks winter report. Report is updated weekly (at a minimum) by state parks during the winter season http://bit.ly/2sv5k6Z

Active Stargazing is allowed even though the park closes at dark. Like fishing or sledriding. The Point on South Shore is one good place.

Unfortunately, no First Day Hike this year, nor Winterfest. But parks are still open for making your own adventure.

We’re back again with updates about our new tour boat. Today we answer what you are all wondering.It’s the end of October, why launch now? We want to be read...y to welcome you in Spring 2021! The boat was delayed in its arrival. It was originally due in late spring and we had fully intended to cruise this summer. As the production of the boat began again in the summer, we had still hoped to receive it in time to take fall foliage cruises. But this time, we were hampered by permits needed to transport such a large load from TN to PA. We took delivery now to be able to launch and train with the builder. Once launched you will see us over the coming weeks performing stability testing (those yellow buckets represent the weight of passengers!) as well as training of all of our volunteer captains. Once all has been completed a new cover will be made, the boat will be removed from the water and winterized. See more

Moraine Preservation Fund is a non-profit that strives to promote community stewardship of our local state parks. We collaborate with park staff to work on important projects and programs to enhance your visit to the parks! We are most known for working along with park teams to reintroduce the Osprey to the park, our annual Winterfest Celebration, Osprey camera live stream and the Nautical Nature educational tour boat.
