The first pages of scripture make clear that this earth and everything on it, along with the sun, moon, and stars, were made by God. Genesis 1-2 describe a creation from nothing, simply by the will and word of God--who is presented in the plural. In fashioning the first human, God is quoted as saying, "Let *us* make man in *our* image, after *our* likeness" (Gen. 1:26, emphasis added). The N.T. indicates that Jesus was the member of the trinity through whom the universe arose.... The apostle John introduced Jesus as "the Word," who "was made flesh, and dwelt among us" (Jn. 1:14). But Jesus has always existed, and was working long before His life and ministry on earth (see Jn. 1:1-3). The apostle Paul also described Jesus as Creator in his letter to the Christians of Colosse (read Col. 1:16), and the apostle Peter made a similar point, briefly, in a sermon he preached in Jerusalem: "The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our Fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he decided to let him go. You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. You killed the *author of life*, but God raised him from the dead." (Acts 3:13-15[NIV], emphasis added). Hello all and we hope that your holiday breaks and time at home celebrating Christmas and the coming New Year were times of blessing and rest. Starting tomorrow, and as we begin 2021, we are hoping to continue our #66namesof_jesus series that we initiated in October, and share with you a little bit about each name. We have been so blessed to have @hisword.png provide the graphics for this series, and also to have been able to do a full advent series last month provided by The Good Book Company UK. We're hopeful that the Lord allows restrictions to be lifted in such a way that we can have camps this year and we will keep you updated as we make our way through the New Year.
