Yet another study has found that VBAC calculators underpredict VBAC odds. Look at the Latinx people who were deemed to have a "low chance" per the calculator. T...he calculator estimated less than 35% would have a VBAC. But over 65% did! And this same study concluded that there is no good evidence, in this study or previous research, that having a Latinx ethnicity reduces the chance of VBAC. If you have clients who were given low VBAC odds per the calculator and perhaps scheduled a cesarean as a result, this is vital information for them to know! Long term bed rest is still a bad idea for pregnancy. Taking it easy for a day or 2 is one thing, complete bed rest for weeks or months has been shown to be bad for people and does not improve outcomes. Here is yet another recommendation against it.

Oklahoma just became the 36 state to license CPMs! Congratulations to OK! They should have licensing available in 2021. Right now IL, DC, IA, CT, and GA also have bills submitted for CPMs according to the big push for midwives. It has PA listed as planning for legislation but that isn't happening on any organized level. There is simply a consensus that a CPM bill needs to happen.
