8 year old Jahcire was hit by a car on his way to school. There will certainly be medical expenses and a long recovery for this young man. Therefore, we are... opening on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14th for the season, and will host a fundraiser for this young man on opening day. Please help spread the word, and stop and purchase a treat. Your purchase will help make a difference in Jahcire’s recovery!

There will be 3 painted rocks hidden at the Mount Penn Block Party tomorrow, Saturday, October 20th. Each rock will have MP on the back and will be numbered 1,... 2, & 3. If you find one of these rocks, bring it to the Central Berks Rock Painting Tent near the Primary Center for a prize! And while you're there, you can paint a rock for a $1 donation (or more if you wish!). All proceeds benefit National Night Out.

WED, June 13, 2018 Good morning all! We need to make you aware of a rather dramatic change to the ever-evolving process of trying to create safe traffic pattern...s through Mt Penn Borough during this mess. In re-evaluating traffic flow on the intended detour route, it has been decided to make the intersection of Carsonia Ave and Endlich Ave a 4-Way STOP. To this end, stop signs have been erected on Carsonia Ave for both north and south travel lanes. This seems like an easy solution, but it comes with some serious caveats.... In an effort to make the new STOP pattern for Carsonia Ave most apparent, there are warning signs placed well in advance of the actual intersection. The actual STOP signs themselves are almost twice the size of a standard STOP sign. To avoid confusion, and unlike the Detour signs which we realize are technically in French, we went with English for the STOP signs. They are big, red, and have the word STOP written prominently across the middle. (And no, the white border does NOT make it optional...). We even went so far as to attach fancy, pretty yellow and red flashing lights to the warning and STOP signs, respectively (the pretty ones cost more, but our residents are worth it). The issue is that people are creatures of habit, and often drive with "blinders on". While even blinders would allow one to see these massive signs, some people are simply continuing right through them, making it extremely dangerous for motorists pulling out from Endlich Ave and assuming that Carsonia Ave traffic will STOP. We're currently trying to increase awareness via police presence, but obviously officers are required to be handling other issues as well. We're sure as people become aware of the new pattern, it will become much safer. But until then, please be aware and ensure that traffic is stopping prior to pulling out onto Carsonia Ave. We apologize to the residents living near the corner for all the horn-blowing and yelling until this becomes established, but hopefully it's better than the sound of crushing metal, broken glass, and blood-curdling screams... #intheperkymesstogether

OFC. Sanchez added another follower to her Fan Club this evening, when she chatted with local resident Seraphina. Seraphina was officially "deputized" as a CBR...PD Junior Officer! OFC. Sanchez routinely goes above and beyond to make our littlest residents feel special. Moments like these are what make everything else worthwhile for our officers. Thank you to Seraphina's family for capturing this moment, and allowing us to share it with our followers!
