Participants also completed a DiSC Personal Profile, understanding the strengths and weaknesses of their primary and secondary work behavioral styles. In Week 2 of MRC’s 2021 Foundations of Lean Certification program, our participants continued their improvement journey in our factory simulation, L.E.W. (Lean Enterprise Works!). Gene and Mike guided participants through establishing one-piece flow by understanding customer demand to calculate takt time. The teams then observed the work elements to determine their cycle times to balance the work across L.E.W’s newly configured cellular work flow. Week 2 finished with the team fulfilling 17 out of 20 customer orders! This week, MRC launched Week 1 of its new 2021 Foundations of Lean Certification program. 12 participants from 7 area companies had an opportunity to network, learn about Lean manufacturing, and become change agents for MRC’s factory simulation, LEW (Lean Enterprise Works!). Gene Kaschak and Mike Withka guided participants as they explored commonly used process assessment tools to define the current state of LEW. Wendy then led the team as they learned about why communication... styles are critical to being an effective change agent. Week 1 is off to great start!
