Mrs. G's Kindergarten Class 16.11.2020

Good morning and happy weekend! Yesterday, we had a great time with the author, Kentrell Martin, when we learned over 25 new words in sign language through his book "Shelly's Adventures". As we start to conclude our school year, I would like to first thank all my dedicated families and students for a great year and wish you a happy summer! Next, I would like to give you a mini schedule for the events of this upcoming week. Monday, May 23rd-Burger King and Samuels Trip. The ...students are asked to wear their gym uniforms and will leave school at 12:00 to walk to Burger King for lunch. We will then walk to Samuel's playground, where the students are permitted to bring outdoor play equipment. Please note that they will be responsible for their own belongings We will return to school and dismiss as normal at 2:30. Tuesday, May 24th-kindergarten clean up day. Students are asked to wear their gym uniforms and bring one roll of paper towels, and if possible Lysol or Clorox wipes The students will also receive their field day shirts this day. Wednesday, May 25th-SGS Field Day! The students are asked to wear their field day shirts, with any bottoms of your choice. The students will be getting wet so bathing suits are also preferred. Please make sure to apply sunscreen, pack a towel, and wear sneakers/since the students will be doing a lot of running Snacks and lunch will be provided and it will be a regular dismissal at 2:30. Thursday, May 26th- Graduation Day the kindergarten class does not have school this day, but are asked to report to the Kindergarten classroom at 12:45pm. The ceremony will be at 1:00 pm in the church. Students are permitted to wear an outfit of their choice, but please note (mostly for the girls) that we will be wearing caps so please be aware of appropriate hairstyles so that the cap will stay on Any questions, please feel free to comment belowClick "like" to let me know you read this

It may just look like a bulletin board to you, but for me it is one of the proudest accomplishments as a kindergarten teacher. It amazes me each year that some students enter kindergarten not knowing how to spell their names, yet by the end, they are able to write a complete paragraph ...complete with proper punctuation and upper case letters may I add I just want to thank all my students' first teachers for guiding and encouraging them along the way. Great job, Kindergarten!

Hello everyone! Just a quick reminder that tomorrow is the May Procession at 1:45 pm. Please refer to the letter sent home previously by Mr. Markowski for the appropriate uniform. Tomorrow is also Show and Tell for the letters V and Z; and the students' assessment on their addresses and phone numbers. Please remember to pack their homework books in their school bags, so we can easily refer to the address and phone number that has been studied. On Monday at 11:15, the kinde...rgarten class will host "Muffins for Moms". Happy Mother's Day to all our dedicated mommies Please remember that the Graduation project is due May 12th. You can refer to the instruction paper previously sent home for further details. At this time as we progress throughout the month of May and into graduation, I would also like to ask all the students if they could please kindly refrain from bringing any additional toys from home into the classroom; which includes but is not limited to key chains, action figures, stuffed animals, etc. With the excitement of all the upcoming activities, many of these items become very distracting during lessons and can also cause confrontations between students. Thank you for your understanding Please click "like" to let me know you have read this post

Happy Earth Day! The first and second graders invited us on a nature scavenger hunt throughout the school yard. Then, Mrs. G put a lil spin on the game "Duck, Duck, Goose", so we played "Earth, Earth, Sun" instead We had to "orbit" around the Earth and catch the "shooting stars". Remember to keep your promises on how you plan to protect our planet
