Early Risers experience the first morning of light and the life at our Sunrise Easter Service 7 am! Followed by a scrumptious warm sunrise outdoor complementary breakfast of sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, eggs, coffee, juice, hot chocolate at 8 am. COVID precautions, Masks and social distancing honored because we care about you. Easter Worship at 9 am. Call Pastor Leona (724) 464-7858 for directions. Dennis R. Koontz, 72, of Fairfield, died at 2:00pm on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. He had worked for many years a...s a clerk for several local auto parts stores including Napa, Metcalf’s, and A&D Auto Parts. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. Dennis was born on December 7, 1948, in Wayne County, IL, to Virgil and Maude (Brock) Koontz. He was married to Phyllis (Hall) Koontz. Survivors include his wife Phyllis Koontz, one son Jarrod Koontz, two daughters Dana (Brent) Opell, and Heather (Jason) Austin all of Fairfield, seven grandchildren Chelsea (Brandon) Bittles, Tyler (Kelsey) Lashbrook, Casey Opell, Madylann Koontz, Megan (Donovan) Lee, Nick (Caylee) Austin, and Malia Austin, five great grandchildren Andrew Bittles, Mason Bittles, Corinne Bittles, Essie Lashbrook, Sage Lashbrook, one brother Danny (Linda) Koontz, one sister Melba (Lester) Cargill both of Fairfield, and one sister-in-law Marge Koontz of Paxton, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Dale Koontz and Darrell Koontz, and one half-brother Lyman Brock. Graveside services for Dennis Koontz will be at 11:30am on Saturday, January 2nd , at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield with full military rites provided by Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW. A public visitation will be held from 10:30am until the time of service at the cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Frontier Community College Automotive Dept and will be accepted at the graveside or at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangement.
