This Saturday 6/19/21 is our Open House. We will be Live here at 8 PM. Featuring local observatories. Elizabeth Warner, Director of the University of Maryland’s observatory Will present on science with small telescopes and she will tell us about building an observatory in Saint Croix. Amy Barraclough, Director of the Edelman Planetarium at Rowan University Will be giving us a tour of their observatory. Plus stargazing tips and planet reports. Fun for everyone.... This is a big bummer, but unfortunately tonight’s event with Rittenhouse Astronomical Society will be postponed due to storm damage and resulting technical issues at the observatory. We are rescheduling to next Saturday, April 3rd. Apologies to all!

October is the month for Mars! Be sure to catch one of the best views of the red planet, high and bright in the evening sky.

Tonight, 10:30 PM (October 8) Join me here for some Celestial Pillow Talk. A live streaming (20 minute) experiment for me as I share the view of a star, sig...ht, or other nocturnal celestial emission through a telescope. If your feeling down, a good way to keep your chin up is to look up to the heavens. If you can’t sleep, join me as I intend to end the transmission with some Stellar Mindfulness. (Besides, many of the teachers I have taught with in the planetarium have dozed off to my voice....so relax, grab a pillow, and let’s re-live the experience!)
